Reflection of the writing and editing process

It is the ninth week right now and I have learnt to differentiate the different types of grammars which my previous schools did not teach in details. Furthermore, I learnt to write better thesis statement, topic sentence and to cite correctly. I feel that I have a better understanding of writing concisely in a smooth flow. In week 10-12, I would like to learn about the final essay requirements. I wish to learn how to clearly identify the flow of the essay and forming uniformity in the whole essay. My weaknesses are not being able to write in a smooth flow and linking every points together and vocabulary. I will read more essays and absorb the correct format of essay writing.
For my summary, I understood the feedbacks and edited it and focused on the main points of the article. For my reader response, I was able to make the changes to my second draft better according to the feedbacks given on audio and written feedbacks. The only thing I did not get it right is that my two topic sentences are similar. I am not very sure of how to write my topic sentence in another form.
I expected my grade to be C and it is accurate and I am aware that I would need a lot more improvements in many areas in order to get a grade B. I feel that audio and written feedback is a good way to get feedbacks, audio feedback is much more engaging and with the complement of written feedbacks, it is easier to understand where my writing have went wrong. Yes I agree that audio and written feedback will be able to help me in my other courses. Praying real hard that I will pass ES1102.

Reflective Writing Draft 2: My Learning Experience

A year ago, I was serving my internship with an events company during my course at polytechnic. I was allocated into the Operations Department. Within a month, I was assigned to run an event solely as Operations In-Charge. During preparation, I have to liaise with the contractors, part timers and communicate with my colleagues in the same frequency. On the actual day of event, I have to anticipate hiccups and handle unexpected situation.

I feel that all these have exposed me to the working society; it helped to brush up my situation analysis, interpersonal and communication skills. It has changed me to become more meticulous in every detail and sociable in order to build network. My role model is my manager, he is experienced in this field and he is always patient in guiding me. He taught me the 3 “I”s to be a good intern, which is ‘Intelligence’, ‘Integrity’ and ‘Initiative’.

I admire his humbleness, style of working and his fair treatment to everyone. He has inspired me to be a better person and always aims for the best and take pride in everything I do. Nothing worth having comes easy. I will also apply the 3 “I”s in my University life.
